God Loves a cheerful giver.
Tithing, as it is often known, is not merely a financial transaction but a spiritual act of worship. It expresses our gratitude, faith, and love for God. We are called to be generous and willing givers, for God loves a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7).
God doesn’t need our money. He owns everything (Psalm 24:1). Yet, He allows us to be part of His work here on earth by using our financial gifts to support the church and its ministries. These resources help spread the gospel, care for those in need, support missions, and provide for the practical needs of the church.
In giving financially to the church, we are investing in God’s kingdom and storing up treasures in heaven (Matthew 6:19-21). We are also learning to trust God more with our finances, believing that He is our Provider and that He will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5).
So let’s give generously, cheerfully, and regularly to our local church as an act of worship and obedience to God, knowing that our giving makes a difference for His kingdom and brings glory to His name.
